Who We Are
The organisation was founded on 18 November 1987 in Sudan by Khadiga Hussein and registered under Registration No. 251 in accordance with Sudanese law. It quickly developed into a national organisation supported by a broad network of members and partners.
On 17 August 1999, Sudanese Mothers for Peace was registered in the United Kingdom as a charitable organisation (Charity No. 1077050), enabling us to expand our international work.
Sudanese Mothers for Peace was founded on a simple but powerful belief:
lasting peace is not possible without women.
For more than three decades, we have worked with mothers, women, youth, and communities to strengthen peace culture, promote dialogue, and support those most affected by war and displacement. Our organisation brings together women from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to dignity, justice, and reconciliation.
